C & H Livestock is located near Gause, Texas about 40 miles Northwest of Bryan/College Station or 45 miles South of Temple in Milam County in Central Texas. Craig, Holly Jentsch with sons, Matthew, John and David, owns C & H Livestock.
We have been raising show cattle since 1987, but have been in the cattle business all our lives. Holly and Craig showed lambs and cattle in 4H and FFA in the late 70's and 80's. Holly started raising show lambs in 1977. Craig showed and owned Maine Anjou cattle in partnership with his family, River Haven Ranch, Hearne Texas. Holly has been raising commercial cattle all her life and when Craig & Holly married in 1987, we began our club calf herd by purchasing registered Angus cattle originating from Quirk Land and Cattle Company via Pete & Buck White of Oklahoma. Craig then dissolved his partnership with River Haven Ranch and brought home his Maine Anjou cows. Craig would AI the cows to the leading club calf and Angus sires and we grew from there.

Holly had a flock of show sheep when she married in 1987, but had to disperse in 1990 due to predator troubles. Then in 1997, John decided he wanted to show goats as his first 4H project so we decided to purchase goats to breed and got a web site for people who were looking for Boer Goats for Sale in Texas. Holly didn't need too much of a reason to get back into small ruminant breeding. In the travels to find a few does, Holly also purchased a lamb, which snowballed into reentering the show lamb industry.
In 1996, Sanderson Farms moved into Central Texas. This looked like a good opportunity for Holly to earn an income and still be a stay-at-home mom plus supplement the income Craig had as a teacher at Hearne ISD. We started growing broilers for Sanderson Farms, Inc on September 7, 1997. We were number 19 to come on line.
