Welcome to our calf pages. We are a small breeder located near the central Texas community
of Gause. We have been breeding cattle for over 30 years and added show cattle in 1987 with the purchase
of an Angus herd from Pete & Buck White, Oklahoma. We generally calve out about 50 cows each spring
with about 10 calves being good enough to be steers.
They are not fancy baby dolled up like you will find
at some big outfits, but clipped by us, fed by us and worked with by us. We do not hide them under layers
of fat at an early age. We believe in service after the sale and helping kids by answering any questions
they have, before and after the sale.
These cows predominately calve from August to November each year. We have several breeds of cows
in the club calf herd: Maine Anjou, Simmental, Angus, Charolais, Brangus, Hereford, Polled Hereford,
and Cross. We A.I. the cows to the best producing bulls in the industry. Bulls we have used Pistol Pete,
Cub, DJ Reflector, County Line Pride, Witchdoctor, County Line 186, ZTA Magnum 44, Wheels, Sugar Ray,
Platinum, Hoodoo, Jazz, Debull, Idaho, Payoff, Wildfire, Totally Tuned, Playmate, Black Demand, Foreplay,
Topper, Double Stuff, Kodiak, Honky Tonk, Habanero, Heat Seeker, Warpath, Survivor, Buck, Jack Frost,
Tiger, Black Rhino, Medicine Man, Kadabra and many others. We clean up the herd with one of several bulls
from our commercial programs. These clean up calves are often just as good as the A.I. calves, which
means sometimes we do have early Winter or Spring born calves at close to market prices. We also have
on occasion Maine Anjou heifers, Angus bulls or commercial heifer prospects.
In 2005 we purchased a new herd sire (link to bull page) from Mid-Continent farms http://www.midcontinentfarms.com and
leased a bull from them for clean up for calves in 2006. We also recently purchased Roth Royal Lass 9508
from Fluharty Farms, Gause TX . She is a '99 Minerts Fortune 2000 x VDAR New Trend 315 cow. We have plans
to flush her in the future.
If you are looking for a calf for your county fair or major show, please drop us a line and we'll
help you if we can. Our prices are very modest!
