These are are new Acme Kool Cells installed by Chore-Time, Texas. They were installed in December of 1999. After having two summers, one with record heat, with chickens, we decided to add these to our barns. The barns still have the fogger/mister system and with this addition, we feel more confident entering another Texas summer.
Old Control Room in Poultry House #3
This is the control system for the barns. The first small white box is the alarm system. It is program
to call my house and my pager whenever an alarm sounds. I have alarms for water pressure, temperature,
power, fogger and feed. The center blue/white box is the Rotem 600, which controls the "environment" of
the birds. The small box next to it is the fogger alarm system. The large aluminum boxes are the various
manual switches and breakers for the controls of the barns. The small black box at the bottom is the
control box for the Shenandoah brooders.

New control room with Choretronic controllers that replaced the Rotem AC600 controls
Each house has its own controls. My home computer is equipped with a program that "calls" my barns and
gives me a detailed report and constant status of my barns. This way I can keep up with my temperature
status while at home with the kids and at night I can adjust lighting, feeding or temperature tables
as needed.
This is a photo of the water system. The top water line is for the fogging system, with filter and water gun (which can be used for medication also) shown. There are three pressure gauges with alarms. The second water line is the main drinking water supply for the birds. The line is equipped with a filter; two pressure gauges, water pressure alarm, water dial, and medicator. The bottom water line is for the outside faucets at the ends of the houses.
